And our houseboats deviates from ferry channel and heads to C’Block [not the German Hip-Hop band], R’block, Chitira Lake, Then comes the land mark Chithirapally the lone structure on vast stretch of paddy field at 1300 hrs we will anchor our Houseboat for lunch break a sumptuous lunch is served.
After an hour of break the anchor is hoisted for proceeding for further cruise, turn towards Marthandam Kayal, the cruise One can glimpse green paddy fields, flocks of ducks swimming around the banks and tiny birds flying across the sky. It is as close as one can get to feel the vibrant life in the countryside of God’s own country. Then comes Kizhakke Vattakayal to enter the mouth of Manimala river and slowly gliding through the less explored route to cross Venattukadu Bridge. At 1600 hrs we will again assemble for tea/coffee with hot sweet banana fritters or Pakodas to merry your gastronomical quench as we pass Venattukadu Church . Observing life from a distance onboard a mildly quivering houseboat may be fine for some, but for canal’s close up may not be okay. You will berth the Houseboat in Munnatinmukham & shift your routine to night mode.
